You’ve been Muslim your whole life and yet you still feel like a stranger to your religion. You’re not alone, and you’re not the first.
In this khutbah, Dr. Omar Suleiman addresses one of the most common and least talked about struggles in the Muslim community. The feeling that your faith has always been there, but never truly felt like yours.
Full du’a mentioned by Dr. Omar Suleiman:
Allahumma inni as’aluka ath-thabbata fi’l-amr wa’l-ʿazimata ʿala’r-rushdi wa as’aluka shukra niʿmatik wa husna ʿibadatik wa as’aluka qalban saliman wa lisanan sadiqan wa as’aluka min khayri ma taʿlamu wa aʿudhu bika min sharri ma ta’lamu wa astaghfiruka lima taʿlam.
O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all my affairs and determination in following the right path, I ask You to make me thankful for Your blessings and to make me worship You properly. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the best of what You know and I seek refuge in You from the worst of what You know and I seek Your forgiveness for what You know.
