Ep. 3: The Power of Du’a: Maryam bint Imran (as)

One of the best examples of living tawakkul is Maryam (as), or Mary, mother of Jesus (as). From profound du’as that understand the wisdom and limitless generosity of God, to unhesitating boldness in standing up for her beliefs, to unwavering faith and hope in God amidst every trial, to reassurances and help from Allah Himself—Maryam’s story is simultaneously miraculous and relatable.

Chosen by Allah and forever memorialized in the Qur’an with an entire chapter named after her, she’s an example of servitude, steadfastness, devotion, strength, and greatness for every believer.

Ep. 2: Keeping A Promise to Allah: The Mother of Maryam

Have you ever made an oath to God that you found difficulty sticking to?

Hinnah, the mother of Mary (as), made a promise to Allah that if He granted her a child, she would dedicate him to His service. When she discovered she gave birth to a girl in a time when it wasn’t common for women to worship in the Temple, she was worried. Yet she never wavered in her commitment to her oath.

From naming her daughter to raising her, Hinnah demonstrated tawakkul in Allah through action—so much so that she and her progeny were immortalized in the Qur’an and upheld by God Himself.

For many people, our Ramadan excitement is high at the beginning, lower near the middle, and high again toward the end.

But the question is: Where does that excitement go after Ramadan? More importantly, if one of the signs of an accepted Ramadan is the continuation of our deeds after the month comes to an end, if one of the signs of an accepted Ramadan is the continuation of our deeds after the month comes to an end, does that mean there are consequences to slowing down? Is this dip inevitable, or is there something we can do to stop it?
