Ep. 10: How Important was Aisha (ra)? | DoubleTake with Yaqeen

S1E10 – How Important was Aisha (ra)? | DoubleTake

Aisha (ra), the wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, was known for her level of scholarship, her love for the Messenger ﷺ, and her love for Islam. Yet these days, many conversations about her life center on the age when she got married. How can we understand this incident considering how we view marriage today? More importantly, what are we missing by reducing her story and contributions to simply a number?

Mohamad Zaoud explores these questions with Ust. Nuriddeen Knight, author of the Yaqeen Institute paper “The Woman Behind the Number: The Irrelevance of the Age of ‘Aisha (ra).”
