Najwa Awad

Fellow | Najwa Awad is a psychotherapist who is passionate about helping Muslims heal, grow, and thrive after adversity. She has over a decade of experience providing online and in-person counseling to children, adults, and families at her practice, Amanah Family Counseling. Najwa also enjoys giving workshops to destigmatize mental illness, address current mental health issues within the community, and promote psychological health from an Islamic perspective.

Amir Abu-Ghuddah

Amir Abu-Ghuddah

Fellow | Amir Abu-Ghudda has a BA in Political Science and Certificate in Economics from University of Regina and has received a JD from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. He also pursued Islamic studies in Turkey under scholars of hadith and fiqh. He has completed articles (legal training) at Blakes, Cassels, & Graydon and clerked at the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal. Currently, he practices as a commercial litigator in Saskatchewan. He has interests in Uṣūl al-Fiqh, Islamic judicial systems, and political thought.

Sh. Abdullah Oduro

Sh. Abdullah Oduro

Fellow, Head of Convert Resources | Abdullah Oduro is a first generation Ghanian native that converted to Islam in 1997. He graduated from the College of Islamic Law from the University of AlMadinah in 2007. He conducts public speeches, sermons, lectures, and workshops around the US on Islamic Law, self-improvement, and convert life. He is currently the Imam at the Islamic Center of Coppell and Lewisville in Dallas, TX. He resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and four children.

Having recently joined Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research as a Scholar, Shaykh Abdullah leads a team providing unique and comprehensive resources for new Muslim converts and institutional convert care.

President | Imam Dr. Omar Suleiman is the Founder and President of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, and an Adjunct Professor of Islamic Studies in the Graduate Liberal Studies Program at Southern Methodist University.
