Dr. Jibran Khokhar

Dr. Jibran Khokhar

Senior Fellow | Dr. Jibran Khokhar was born in Kuwait where he memorized the Quran with an ijazah. He completed his Bachelors in Life Sciences from Queen's University and his Doctorate in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Toronto followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in Psychiatry at Dartmouth College. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Guelph where he studies topics related to substance use and severe mental illness, and how drugs of abuse affect the developing brain. He also serves as a Khateeb for the Guelph community and a Senior Fellow at Yaqeen Institute.

Anna Birawi

Anna Birawi

Anna is a Research Assistant at Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Reaearch. She is also currently undertaking a PhD on scholarship with the School of Divinity, University of Edinburgh, researching the role and efficacy of western Islamic apologetics in combatting anti-God, irreligious and anti-Islamic ideologies.
Anna has an MA in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the School of African and Oriental Studies (University of London) and a BA in Philosophy and Theology from the University of Nottingham.
Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, Anna worked as a non-fiction editor and writer for various publishers, think-tanks, news outlets and independent authors.
