Guest Contributor | Jeroen Vlug is a Ph.D. candidate in civilization studies and teaching fellow at Ibn Haldun University, where he specializes in Islamic civilization and Islamic law. He has an M.A. in religious studies from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, with a double specialization in Islamic theology and the sociology and anthropology of religion. He obtained a second M.A. from Freie Universität Berlin in Islamic intellectual history, specializing in medieval Arabic logic and philosophy in the Islamicate world. In addition, he completed the program for Islamic sciences at the ISAR Foundation (İstanbul Araştırma ve Eğitim Vakfı) in Istanbul, based on the traditional Ottoman madrasa curriculum.
